Diwali celebration at NDBS 2020

Diwali the much awaited festival of lights is celebrated to honor Lord Rama who returned to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile during which he fought and won a battle against the demon king Ravana. It symbolises the victory of good over evil. The people of Ayodhya welcomed Lord Rama by decorating the city with earthen lamps. This five day festival starts with Dhanteras, followed by Chhoti Diwali, Diwali, Govardhan Puja and finally Bhai Dooj . People clean their houses and also decorate it with flowers, lamps lights and rangolis . Varieties of dishes are prepared, followed by bursting of crackers is done on this day. This time due to pandemic the classes are going online but this did not dampen the spirit of the children. Diwali was celebrated by showing the videos and write-ups and children were asked to prepare cards. Last but not the least, children were told to celebrate Green Diwali to save the environment and to follow safety measures
