World Senior Citizen Day 2021

The following and a video was shared with the students on this day
The World Senior Citizen’s Day is celebrated on 21st August each year.
The Day was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on December 14, 1990. The day was officially founded by the former President of the United States of America, Ronald Reagan in 1988 to dedicate a day to older adults and their issues.
It is the day to let them know how much you care for them. The main purpose of World Senior Citizen’s Day is to raise awareness of the condition of older people and to support them throughout the aging process. The day is also recognized for the well-being of the elderly to recognize and appreciate their accomplishments and their participation in society in order to promote their skills and knowledge.
The reason to celebrate this day is to thank the elders for everything they have done for their children and to acknowledge them. By dedicating a special day of the year to the elderly, it gives their families the opportunity to acknowledge their love and commitment.
We must make sure that none of us makes them feel as if they are a burden on us. Treat them right and love them. Take good care of them and their little needs as they are dependent on us. Remember that having a senior citizen at home is truly essential as they are a blessing. They can be the best guides for life due to the immense experience they hold about the various walks of life.

Always respect the senior citizens not only because they are elder to us but also they are far more experienced and truly make the best teachers in the world!
