Christmas is the famous festival of Christians. It is celebrated every year on 25th December all over the world. The Christmas festival is celebrated as the birthday of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the originator of Christianity. Christian people consider him the son of God.
He was incensed to remove the affliction of the afflicted and miserable people of world and to reveal the true nature of God to others. Initially he had to face many difficulties, but gradually the number of his followers increased. He tried to remove superstition, ignorance, misery etc in the world.
It is said about Jesus Christ that Jews began to be jealous from the growing popularity of Jesus. They began to feel that Jesus could take power from them, so he was crucified under the conspiracy. Christians believe that Lord Jesus Christ was resurrected on the third day according to statement. He did great miracles which is not the case of human being because the power to do it was from God. This is the biggest and happiest festival of the Christian community, due to which it is also called big day. This festival has the same significance as for the Christian community, which is of Dussehra and Diwali for Hindus.
On Christmas night, folks enjoy a big feast and share gifts with each other. Homemade traditional plum cakes, cup cakes and muffins are the special treats on Christmas. Kids are showered with lots of gifts and new dresses. They also get to meet the Santa Claus dressed in a fluffy red and white costume, who greets them with hugs and gifts.
People also bring a Christmas tree to their homes and decorate it with colourful balls, ribbons and red socks. Market shops and showrooms display a theme of glittering red and white colour to set up the Christmas mood. People go to Church and light candles to pray to their God, Jesus Christ.
