A Salute to the IAF on Air Force day
Today on the Air Force Day the students were briefed about the importance of the day by apprising them the following :
The Indian Aiir Force Day is celebrated every year on the 8th of October. In the year 2020 India celebrates its 88th Air Force Day. The Indian Air Force was established officially on the 8th October in 1932 under the British Empire which added laurels to India in the Second World War. The Indian Air Force is also known as Bhartiya Vayu Sena. It is the fourth largest air force in the world. IAF is also known for its valuable contributions against the war with Pakistan and China. The Other operations headed by Indian Air Force are operation Meghdoot ,operation Cactus and operation Poomalai .The Supreme Commander in chief of the Indian Air Force is the President, the Commander of the air force is the chief of the air staff and is also known as Air Marshal .The current Air Chief Marshal of India is Mr Rakesh Singh Bhadoria who took office on 30th September 2019 on the retirement of Air Chief Marshal Dhanoa .The Indian Air Force has started upgrading its combat air craft fleet since last few years to enhance its operational capabilities .They have been upgrading their various aircrafts to meet the present scenario, of the present fleet Mig 21 ,Mig 27 and Jaguar have already been upgraded and Mirage 2000 and Mig 29 are under upgradation .The fleet also consists of MI25 ,MI-35 ,Boeing 737-200, LI-76 SU-30mki ,helicopter Dhruv ,HAL ,Tejas and many more aircrafts for surveillance .Recently India has added the Raffle in its power which has actually added Glory and strength to the Indian Air Force.
